Support

NAMI Wichita has multiple support groups set up to meet the diverse needs of our members.

For people living with mental illness, a safe environment that offers a place to express themselves and receive support without being judged is a critical component of recovery and wellness. In recognition of this need, NAMI Wichita has launched an every-other-week support group, NAMI Connection. The NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group offers an inclusive place to learn from other’s experiences, share coping strategies and offer encouragement and support. Interacting with persons with similar life experiences lets one know that other people also live successfully with these chronic brain diseases.

This group meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.

Our Family Support Group is for family members and caregivers of adults living with mental illness.  Facilitated by a family member, this group offers a forum to share common experiences and concerns.
